What the desk shoots
Commissioned work carries the same eye as the archive — documentary and photojournalism first. Regular briefs include socio-political and breaking news, environmental and humanitarian stories, portraiture, and cultural and festival coverage. Abdul Goni also researches, plans and executes long-term photo essays independently, and runs photography workshops on request.
How a commission works
A straightforward path from first email to delivered files:
- Brief. You send the story, dates, location and intended use; the desk confirms feasibility and access.
- Quote & schedule. A written quote — day rate or project fee — with usage, expenses and timeline. Nothing proceeds until it’s agreed.
- Shoot. The assignment is photographed on the ground, with updates where a story runs long.
- Edit & deliver. A captioned, colour-corrected edit delivered as clean, full-resolution files with IPTC metadata and the agreed credit.
- Licence. Usage is set out in writing — editorial by default; commercial and exclusive terms quoted per brief.
